This tour is packed full of discovery, flavors, and charm. 

9 nights in ONE charming B&B or boutique hotel

Accommodations offer full amenities 

B&B or hotel located in the country side for an authentic experience but close to villages

24 meals (9 breakfasts, 9 dinners, 6 lunches). Meals are focused on regional cooking and local fresh products.

Wine and non-alcoholic drinks with all group meals. Water bottles during the day.

Tickets to all group activities.

Tips

8 days of guided excursions (museums, castles, Roman ruins, markets…).

Cultural discovery of perched villages and small provincial towns.

Two wine tastings and one tour of a lavender farm.

Leisure time to pursue independent interests and shopping.

All ground transportation throughout the tour in a comfortable and air-conditioned van.

Round trip transfers between Montélimar TGV rail station and the accommodation.

Tour requires 7 guests minimum and is limited to 12.

Monday 

Sylvie will meet you at the train station in Montelimar at 4 PM. You are transferred to your accommodation in plenty of time to relax and meet your fellow travelers. Dinner @ B&B

Tuesday 

After a leisurely breakfast, our trip takes us to a lavender farm. where we learn about the culture, history, We then head to La Garde Adhemar, a perched village, for lunch. l. After lunch, we make our way to the Val des Nymphes, a magical place home to various worship rituals for thousands of years.

 Wednesday 

Off to Vaison la Romaine known for its Roman archeological dig. After our morning guided visit, lunch and afternoon is on your own.-

Thursday 

 Market day in Nyons. The day is yours. Stroll through the rich market and shop for regional goods. Walk the Sentier des Oliviers (Trail of the Olive Tree) explore the town or sit at a café. Lunch is on your own.

 Friday 

We visit the castle of Suze-la-Rousse. The castle, a mix of medieval and renaissance styles, offers a window into the history of wine from antiquity to our days. After lunch together we head to a winery, for some wine tasting.

Saturday

Today we head out to Crest to visit its landmark, the highest keep in France, and discover its unusual history. After lunch, We visit a producer of the local sparkling wine Clairette.

Sunday

Off to visit the famous castle of Grignan overlooking the quaint provincial town of Grignan. After lunch, we drive to Taulignan to visit the Museum of Silk. We discover the process of making silk thread and the impact the industry had on the region from the 14th to 20th centuries.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Dinner @ B&B

                                                                                                                                             Monday

This morning we drive up the Gorges de L’Ardèche (the river Ardèche Canyon) to the Cave Chauvet replica and museum. Lunch is on your own, we drive to the amazing underground cave, Aven d’Orgnac, where the rock was carved over millions of years into majestic sculptures.                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Dinner @ B&B

                                                                                                                                         Tuesday

Today we travel through gorgeous landscapes into the hills to Dieulefit the “potters” town. Dieulefit is nestled in the heights of the Pre-Alps Mountains and affords breathtaking views. Considered a town of refuge the area hid Huguenots and WWII refugees. We follow the trail of WWII Artist refugees and tour a potters studio. tour the town and enjoy exploring the artist studios and shops. -

Wednesday 

Our last morning. After breakfast, we head out to the train station to pursue other individual adventures.

Great food. Every meal cooked by our host was great. Best immersion of French culture I did not expect. The best activity was the visit to the winery. Stacey H.
